Well I never said this would be easy Boreas, especially in today's conservative climate. Cultural change generally occurs in times of liberal activism, such as the 1920s and 1960s. We are due, overdue, for the cycle to reverse now, and I think it was begining to happen before Bush was elected in the squeaker election of 2000 and then 9/11/01 and the events that have followed.
On the other hand, with each liberal/conservative cycle, there is a residual drift towards liberation and equality for women. Even in today's conservative climate women are much better off then they were when I was young and many careers were completely closed to them. And they have much better legal protection now with anti-harassment laws and domestic violence protection women of the 1950s could only hope for. So progress is being made.
