I will tell you this, JB, many of the units I have supported have been mobilized from a dead stand still to being in the air and on the way to an objective within 7 HOURS! We are not talking about just 50 or so individuals, rather several 100's with equipment and supplies. The presidents actions were as Nat says...CALLOUS INACTION. The mobilization should have occured several days before landfal.
