Forty one years of marriage is quite an accomplishment. You are closer in age to that which NBC's Tom Brokaw christened "The Greatest Generation." I wonder how many people of younger generations will be able to say they were married 30 years, let alone 40 or 50.
The post-Katrina behavior I was speaking of was the looting -- not of water or food stuffs, but non-essential things like electronic gear -- and other violence . . . the shots fired at safety forces flying in on helicopters to try to help people. Yes, there were other people helping, but the social order of the citizenry of NO disintegrated to a large extent (I concur with the statement by a resident of Sri Lanka, when he noted the even-greater destruction and loss of life caused by the tsunami, and yet the people there didn't regress into vicious animals. The man had seen the scenes of Katrina and asked, "Who are the 'civilized' people?" Good question.)
