it would have been a total melee.....a big gun battle.
I don't ever want to live in a society where everyone is packing guns. I live in a part of Canada where there is probably more guns per capita than the rest of the country. Our gun death/injury stats are WAY lower than those in the US. So what is the difference? I have no idea. I do not think that getting more guns is the answer.
I was in the Army Reserve and was trained in using rifles, sub-machine guns etc. I took the range safety officer course, so could even run a range. I am not afraid of the things. I just don't think they need to be so plentiful. Generally here, people use them for hunting or protecting their property from bears, moose etc. who have become pests.
My father was a police officer, so I grew up with his gun in the house. We had strict safety guidelines. He was shot with his own gun, shortly after I was born. So, if a trained police officer can get shot with his own gun, what about average Joe who isn't so competent?
I guess that is an issue (guns) that puzzles us Canadians about you Americans! Love ya anyway!
