I think that is interesting too. I wonder why the race designated for women is so much shorter than the men's race. It would be fascinating to me to have a race with the same amount of stages, over the same course, same mileage, same season, if possible. Then we could compare times and averages much more accurately.
I know I said that I think men might be faster than women due to weight and strength. But I do wonder if that is entirely true. If I were to race against a man of equal height and weight as me, and we were riding the exact same bike and had trained under the same conditions for the same amount of time...would I beat him, or he beat me? Who would be stronger? Do hormone differences change the outcome? Bone density? Muscle? I am quite intrigued by this question.
