Even as a 5 year old, I understood that the violence in The Three Stooges or on Popeye or some cartoon was just slapstick.
I even grew up watching professional wrestling and going many times to the matches at the Nashville Fairgrounds. This was when wrestling was pure redneck, low class entertainment, not the WWE of today.
My friends and I used to play wrestling all the time. None of us grew up to be violent individuals.
