My wish list for a car is that it is first and foremost reliable. I don't care how good it looks or how comfortable and quiet it is if I cannot count on it to make it to and from my destination without breakdown. Second (and related), I want it economical to operate, maintain and insure. Third, I like to listen to my CD's and enjoy a CD changer and nice speakers. Finally, if the car is comfortable -- nice ride and quiet, I like that.
I enjoy biking riding, but more for pleasure and not so much as a serious mode of transport. Likewise with walking: Recreational, but I don't want to walk the distances I usually need to travel. The bus . . only as a last resort. A train . . . there isn't much passenger rail service here, and what there is requires you to drive a while to get to it -- so, only (maybe) for an inter-state trip. I like to fly on occasion, but really prefer the big jets over the bumpy commuter planes. As for boats . . I would like to take a cruise some day.
