Yes but that was true of southern food 30 years ago too- and people weren't so fat then- so theres more than that. For one thing we eat much more now- I remember when McDonalds first open up there was no "Big Mac" or "Quarter pounder" or super-size soda- just their small size burger and 8-oz drink. Now that burger is considered a "kid" burger! Same with the drinks and everything else. People easily eat twice as much now and do less walking and physical labor. It also wouldn't surprise me if the hormones they put in cattle to make them gain weight faster is not having a effect on people who eat that meat too. One thing for sure we are becoming a nation of lard. Just sit on a mall bench and watch the bloated bodies waddle past.
