Brandon it's pointless to show me right-wing websites giving their "facts" when I can give you left-wing websites with their "facts". Everything said in this debate is colored by one's point of view.
But just think logically about this- there is no way a private company that pays it executives millions of dollars (compare to what civil service workers make), who pays their stockholder dividends, who pays corporate and property taxes and advertising costs- all costs which the government doesn't have- can be be more efficient. Plus- look at the huge amount of money health providers now must spend processing the multitude of different insurance forms and keeping up with the different rules and procedures that each of dozens of private insurance companies have- when if it was done by the government it would be a simple uniform system for every claim.
As for Medicare going broke- if Medicare had been charging anything near what private insurance companies have been over the years it would be rolling in money.
Conservatives talk like a governments system is a wild risky experiment when there are a dozen successful government insurance systems to prove that it can work. And for every "horror" story that conservatives dredge up about the government insurance systems I could find a dozens about how US citizens have been victimized by for-profit private insurance.
