Nat, I don't think anyone left, right, center, even libertarian thinks we don't need some sort of insurance reform in this country.
The question is who would do a better job of providing the best medical services to the most number of people, government or private enterprise. I would argue the free market approach always works better than the bloated federal government.
There is no perfect world, so you will always be able to find a situation or a case where a person will be screwed. Under the system I support, you would have been able to find an insurance plan that covered new, unproven treatments before you came down with the condition. Under the system, you support you would die of the disease while you were on the government waiting list.
