I agree that entering Iraq was a mistake . . especially since we know that there weren't WMD found there. It would be great to just leave now, but wouldn't we deserve (this time) the blame for the ensuing bloodbath? Same with Afghanistan: leave and let the Taliban ravage the population there.
After all, it's not our blood that would be let. And, as I told Bayko, I'm ready for U.S. to pull back within our own country and let the rest of the world figure it out. Not only stop the military activities but also the foreign aid and humanitarian actions too. That money could be used at home instead of fueling hostility around the world that U.S. "doesn't help enough". Let's just stop trying to help and focus on our own problems instead. Maybe other countries would get over the idea that U.S> owes them something. Truth be told, it never works trying to buy friends. They are never really friends.
Maybe China or some collection of countries can take the leadership role. Personally, I've tired of the burden, and I think a lot of Americans agree with me. Next time that anyone suspects a terrorist bombing could occur in any other part of the world, we will mind our own business and just concentrate on our own security. Sounds good to me.
