Indeed hidden taxes do exist everywhere.....

Here, president Sarkozy committed not to increase taxes during his term. Actually, he did not increase the income tax. But this period has been the most creative ever in terms of creation of new taxes:

. Tax to finance minimum solidarity income (EUR 1 to 2 bn)
. Tax on insurances (EUR 1 bn)
. Tax on benefits on net income given to employees (EUR 400 m)
. Tax on stock options (EUR 250 m)
. Medical franchises (EUR 850 m)
. Pension contributions (EUR 150 m)
. Tax on advertising on private tv channels (not evaluated)
. Tax on oil companies (EUR 150 m)
. Tax to finance subsidies for oil heating (EUR 100 m)
. Tax on computers (EUR 50 m)
. Tax on hard disks and USB keys (EUR 167 m)
. Tax on fish (EUR 80 m)
. Tax on motor oil
. Tax on advertising leaflets
. Increase of tax on tv (EUR 20 m)
. Increase on tax on medicines (EUR 50 m)
. Tax on telephone and internet (EUR 80 m)
. Tax on big engine cars
. Ecological tax on cars (EUR 470 m)
. tax on airline tickets (EUR 160 m)
. Tax on coal (EUR 5 m)
. Tax on disposable dishes "picnic tax"

This does not take into account the increase in local taxes.....
