Boy, I'm sure I'd have trouble holding my temper if I was in the same room as that guy.
That letter could just as easily been written a hundred years ago. He would not have like TR and a few decades later, he wouldn't have like FDR either. They were both progressives, you know, and the republicans spent the entire time FDR was president trying to defeat him.
Lets see, when do I ever get a chance to say anything to congress? So how could I lie. And who gets to say who's black and who's white. At one time even the Indians were not considered to be Americans. I don't know what people thought they were. Just savages, I guess, or hostiles.
Wrong to execute a mass murderer? Where did he get that idea? Teaching homosexuality? How does he know what is taught in school anyway? Or does he think that it has only existed since 1968?
Nativity scenes on public property? I guess people really want and believe in a state sponsored religion after all. It isn't such a terrible idea, only the problem is in choosing which one.
Yes, we take money from those who work (the workers) and give it to those who don't (the rich). That's one way the rich get richer. That is, unless you think the rich simply worked harder than everyone else.
Yes, the president (the persuader in chief) takes all the blame when things go wrong. At least the hurricane wasn't blamed on Bush, no more than the oil spill was blamed on Obama. The critics want the government off their back and out of their affairs--except when they don't. Same with all that is happening with Libya today. Whatever the president does, there are lots of people who don't like it. And as I said, he didn't ask me first. Maybe he asked the committee that he mentions. And by the way, taxes have dropped like a rock. And if you don't have a job because the rich decided they could make more money by moving production overseas (not necessarily China), then you don't have to pay any taxes at all--because you have no income. Anyhow, you don't have a job because you're lazy in the first place, not because production went overseas. Since when do the rich have an interest in the economic well-being of the country they happen to live in? |
