Well, anytime you post you run the risk as I have found out. But mostly I just wanted to know what you thought.
I am not sure who would benefit most to be honest. There is, based on what I've read, both nutritional and emotional benefit - and (I KNOW - this is selfish) but I get something to - my body the way I want it, and some unexpected bonding time with my son...or sons.
This all came up because I have a friend who did the same thing. Her daughter is five. They had come over and we had been talking about it (and whether or not I should do the same thing) and my sons came in while she was feeding at one point.
A couple weeks later we were watching tv in bed on a Saturday morning and my youngest asked if I was going to have another kid. I told him I didnt think so - not any time soon. Then he asked if he was going to be able to try what Kaylie did. I didnt respond - I hadnt even considered that at that point to be honest. I asked him if he wanted to - and he said yea he would.
So, now Im not sure. I know that a lot of people would "freak out" - they freak out if they see a mother nursing an infant at the mall. But I haven't ruled it out either.
