I have been doing my taxes on the computer for the last 10 years. Noticed one thing different this year. Previously, you were allowed to deduct the fees for the software, and for filing your taxes. This year, you can only deduct the amount if the total miscellaneous deductions are greater than 2 percent of your gross income. Since the 90 dollars spent is way below the limit, I could not claim the deduction.
I wish congress would stop messing with the taxes for the middle and lower class. Instead of changing the rules, why not close all of the loopholes that allow the upper class to not pay the taxes. Just my 1.375 cents (would be 2 cents, but have to pay taxes (grin)). |
