Good post; it is almost inevitable that you will associate a name with a body type, maybe even a hair color. But they also become associated with a period. Those mentioined in your second paragraph seem to be my generation. But the generations before me had names like Edith, Marie, Audrey, Virginia and so on. Susan was a name from my generation and somehow it's hard to imagine a 65 year old woman named Susan.
I've had jobs where I frequently spoke with people in other parts of the country on more or less a regular basis. But I rarely got a chance to meet any of those people. Some of those people sounded exactly like people I already knew or had known, so I found myself picturing those people as looking the same as the others who sounded the same. Well, eventually I met or saw photos of those people and they're never the same but I guess it's an interesting tendency just the same.
