During the night Martians came and stripped it to sell the parts on Ebay.

(Just kidding- but wouldn't that be funny?) wink.gif

Problem is you can't use PayPal with Martians, so payment has to be via some kind of universal money order. Also, they can be very slow on delivery time yet Martians get mad if you don't give them AAA+++ feedback. I won't bid on any of their auctions.

Wise man

You are a wise man Brandon. I don't want to sound like a bigot but I just prefer to deal with people from my own planet. If you ever saw Tim Burton's "Mars Attacks" you will understand why. They are not like us and you just can't trust them.

Those Martian warriors all talked like nagging wives: "Qwak! Qwak! Qwaaaack!"

Ah...

So that's what they were pissed off about! I just know they were in a bad mood when they came here. I thought that movie was really under-rated- it was much better then the reviews it got. I thought the costumes and effects were excellent and it had a lot of humor in it. Maybe that was the problem, people couldn't accept the odd mix of humor and gore in the same movie.

"The Night That Panicked America"

Brandon should especially like this...

Since we are talking about Martians, you may have heard about a famous radio program Orson Welles broadcast in 1938 about a Martian invasion. It caused a national panic because it was presented as if it was actual news broadcast of a real new event and people who tuned into the program after it had started and missed the announcement about it being a play thought it was the real thing! It caused such a panic that Congress held hearings and passed new laws prohibiting simulated news broadcast which might be mistaken as the real thing from ever being done again.

Well in 1975 ABC broadcast a TV movie about this called "The Night That Panicked America" which pretty accurately portrayed what happen that night. The movie switches back and forth between showing the actors doing their parts in the radio studio and how various people of the public who think it's real are reacting to it.

Well I found out that there is a copy of it on Youtube now. The technical quality is not the best and it even contains commercials but if you have a couple hours to kill- it's a pretty fascinating look at how it was in the "Golden Age" of radio before TV:
