Hi,
I'm having trouble finding a harness to put a new stereo in a Mazda Protege 1996 that I bought from an auction. The factory harness has been cut-off. I've looked through the install doctor site for the wire color scheme but doesn't quite match. Has anyone ever install a cd player on this model or know of the wiring scheme, would be a great help.
Much Aloha,
Steve Sahetapy-Engel

I have a 95 Mazda and have been looking for the color coding diagram. Found a few, but they list colors that I don't have - and the colors i do have are not connected in the same harnesses. I think the color coding changed in '95. If you find out anything, let me know.

the best way is to put a battery to the lines that come form the speakers. Don't try to pair them up because the colors don't match up to the speakers???(A very stupid Mazda thing). Then use an ohm meter to test the conductivity of the ground, and the power leads to the radio.
this is the easiest and fastest way that I thought of, have fun!!
