Hey, I have a 99 Protege DX. I was wondering if anyone could tell me if Mazda has updated the sun visors and made them better since 99. The little flap that covers the mirror just ripped right off of both of the visors. I feel this is a very CHEAP material and I am going to bye new ones, however I don't want the sameones again. I would order them for a latter model Protege if I knew they were made better.
Thanks,
Barry

I own a 99 Protege also and have the same problems with the visors. I went on eBay and found a guy selling the 2000 Protege visors a while back and purchased them. They are A LOT better than the 99's. They're thicker and stronger. Plus no flimsy flap to cover the mirror. Didnt mater much to me though, I used the new visors for lcds and they hold better than the old ones.

Take those visors to a good upolstery shop. Have them converted over to a better material. Make shure that the owners are Hispanic. They do good work.

That is weird. Both of my flaps over the mirrors have ripped off. They are indeed cheap and for the most part I am not too satisfied with the car as a whole.
