Anyone able to get any Yakima stuff onto their Protege5 rack? Or am I going to have to bite the bullet and install the full Yakima set-up (towers, bars etc) in order to haul my bikes/canoe???

I was hoping I could buy something new from Yakima to just attach my stuff to factory rack, but no (official) dice..

The factory roof rack with Yakima attachment is not strong enough for you. Either Thule or Yakima rack system will do.
