I putting a 350 chevy-th350 in my 91 b2200, the 3.91 ratio is not good for the highway, It will turn high rpms, and I don't like that specailly on long drives, I seen a 383 Chevy in a B2000 with a ranger rear end , and I will give it some credit, It has seen some hell, Driving down the highway at 3600rpm is not my farvoite thing to do, looking for something to lower that, I don't know how strong Mazda rear ends are, if I put a Mazda rear end or parts from a pickup that had an better ratio for what I want would it hold?

Go with a Toyota rear end. Its swappable. And LCEngineering makes gear kits, and a few other companies make gear kits for a toy rear end.

About that 350 swap.......I am planning on a 4.3 swap. Its the same mounts. Where can I find a kit to put it in? I tried ultimatecustoms.com, they are closed down. I just want to know where I can find engine mounts and transmission mounts.

I put a B2000 2.0 with the 5 speed tranny in my 73 Courior with the stock rearend (from the original 4 spd) I was taching way to much for highway, so I put in the readend from the B2000 too so I have the whole drive tran. Long story short you may want to find a B2000 rear end from a 5 sp, thier lower geared than the ones from 4 spds.

It takes a lot to break a rearend in the mazda trucks, and I don't think you can break one. My dad owns a B2000 diesel wit doolies in the back he downshifted with over a ton worth of dirt in the back and locked it up, didn't even phase it. Left skid marks 10' down the road. You can swap out rings and pinions with some other mazdas that will lower the rear end ration and give you better gas milage, in the B2200 tranny you can swap out 5 gear with many of the 80 model RX-7 which really give you some upper end speed. Check out the Mazda Interchangability guide and Drivetrain interchangability guide on SoloMiata. Note the site is mainly geard for Miata's but they have a lot of general information about most mazdas.
