Hello all,

Engine warning light comes out after few minute driving. The mechanic said he cleaned something, it disappeared for a day but came back again. What can be wrong ?Is there anything I can do? Is it safe to drive like this? I will take it to the mechanic when i get back home. The car also doesnt have much power on hills. Any ideas? Thanks.

Hello
I took the autozone and they do diagnostic free. It is under the hood. SInce mine is ford engine, he look at the ford codes and it is 332 EGR valve insufficient. THe part itself is $220. I dont know what to do in this point(i might get rid of the car, it seems too much problem), but if there is Autozone, you can take it there.

I could be wrong, but I don't think a Ford engine is used in any 626, but do believe a Mazda engine is used in the Ford Probe.

When it comes to EGR valves, a typical symptom of a bad one is rough idling and/or engine stalling at low speeds. Other things can cause the same symptoms, however, which is why it's important to get the correct codes.

However you choose to approach the problem, don't change parts willy-nilly or you could spend a lot of money for nothing.

i have a 95 also and mine comes on when you hold the throttle ddown then after a couple engine cycles goes off, i did a tune up (plugs, wires, rotor and distubtor cap) and also have been putting preimum in and its been fine, the reason the light goes on then turns off is because there has been a misfire. so do a tune up and c how it goes. now on the subject of the ford engine in a mazda it is. the mazda 626 and the probe are exact engine and all . if u wanna figure out what codes the engine is throwing go into your diagnosis box under the hood located by the fuse box and u have to probe the connector i am not sure which ones i will get back to u

Some people would think this is a stupid thing to do but..............I got so tired chasing down codes and reasons why the warning light was always on in my Millenia, I finally pulled the bulb. Now 100,000 miles later and the car runs fine. Just tune ups and oil changes.

I have Mazda 626 Lx 96 model with 110K Miles on it
Inspection Sticker failed because Engine light was on
So they put Refused sticker I had 2 months to get it repaired.
I had some hesitation problem while accelerating.
Computer codes for failure was P0421 P1130, P0171

So I took it to mechanic He changed Oxygen sensor and harcged 330 USD
and reset engine light to off But engine light came on again

So I took it same mechanic again and he did some test and found that
He needed to change MAF sensor

He charged another 317 USD and engine light and hesitation problem
is repaired I have to wait and drive 10 days to get it reinspected.
