Looking for an air intake for a 98 626 V6! Anyone have any suggestions?

The 2.5 kicks up a lot of heat....looking for one that doesn't pull air from the eng. compartment, but also don't want road water being kicked up from a scoop.

Are there any new one's worth looking at? Thx.

FxTeknology Ram Filter

You should go on eBay and look for filters made by a company called FxTeknology. These are the new generation foam filters which are a direct replacement of the OEM filter, without the need to install a pipe + cone setup.

I just bought this filter or my Millenia (Eunos 800), and I have to say the difference is quite good. Unlike the K&N filter with its cotton filter, the foam allows for greater flow while still trapping the same amount of dirt. But I found throttle response to be quicker, with more power be added for better acceleration. It's also helped out some of my flat spots.

At only 20 something bucks, it's a great value for performance.

Air Induction and Aerodynamics

For any intake system carburated or injected you want the intake in a cool air high pressure area. For most cars the best place for this is the center of the hood just in front of the windshield but anywhere above the radiator is best. This is where cowl induction comes from. Anywhere below the radiator and you start disturbing air flow around the vehicle, you pick up debris, and the intake will be sitting in a low pressure area which also takes away from the amount of downforce the car naturally produces.
