Hey Guys/Gals,
Well.. my 92 MPV, 3L V-6 is in very good shape w/250km on it but the shocks are shot. Now, I bought it in 92 with the automatic adjustable towing package..but can not find any info about these shocks! Obviously i need to buy specials ones..but is there an adjustable valve in the shock...therefore needing to replace it with oem mazda parts ($$ouch), or does monroe, etc.. make an oem replacement??

Thanks a bunch!

I had to replace the rear shocks on my MPV, only to find out that they cost over four hundred dollars a pair, but, fortunately, I was able to replace them with Gabriel air shocks from a JC withney catalog, for about $70 dollars a pair. The guys at JC withney will tell you they won't work if you have a self leveling suspension, wich is not true, I have one, and they work fine. The only modification is fittings at hoses into schocks, wich you can get at any parts store. So go ahead and save some bucks!

The after market rear shocks work much better and smoother than the stocks, the reason theu tell you they won't work with self leveling system is because when you raise the car on a lifter, (At the garage shop), the rear differential will hang much further than with the originals, (Shocks have more travel), and the selve-leveling sensor (attacched to the differential case) can be stretched to far and damaged. What I do is tell my mechanic to be aware of this problem when lifting the car, so he can disconect the sensor before.
