I'm in the same boat as you. I have a 1993 B2200 and I want to fit a 302 in mine. I went to www.fordranger.com and it can be done on a ranger without too much trouble, but the B-series and Rangers didn't become clones till 1994. Post a question at that site and see if maybe someone there can help you.
Also, if you don't mind, I'd like to know what articles you read on this topic. Sorry that I wasn't more help.
