This'll stump ya.

5 dr. 1985 626, 4 cyl. Standard trans, power steering, electronic front struts.

Symptoms:
Sounds like front passenger wheel bearing is out.
goes "Grind, Grind, Grind...." as you travel forward.
Going over 15 MPH, when I crank the wheel to the right, the noise becomes much louder (really grinds), and pulls to the right as if stuck in a rut.
When I crank the wheel to the left, nothing....it corners fine, and noise gets no worse.

I've replaced the passenger wheel bearing, both half-shafts, the right-hand carrier bearing (that bolts to the block) and I'm reasonably sure that the struts are ok. The tranny shifts fine, no real problems there...

The boot on my steering assembly is torn.

I put the car in reverse, cranked the wheel in one direction, and everything is ok, no pulsing....

What could this noise be?
Bad bearings in the tranny? It sounds like it's coming from the passenger side......

Other than this, it's a great little car..

Please, someone....Help me solve this problem!

What do the brake pads on that side look like - compared to the other side... brake rotor surfaces????
Are the brake pads locked tightly in the calipers?

The brakes look ok, kinda worn....could be replaced, but ok....As for being"locked" in the calipers...Um...yeah, they're in there ok...
The rotors look good.

Try jacking up only one front wheel and putting it in gear. When you spin the wheel in third or fourth gear you can hear any noises and try to look for broken parts. If you hear your noise its on the side with the wheel in the air. Be sure to move the steering while the wheel is spinning so that you change the load on the wheel bearing. Make sure you do this to both sides as a bearing can make noise either while loaded or unloaded.
I would also check the steering rack tie rod ends. If the inner end is damaged it can change the toe enough to cause a scrubbing noise from the tires at low speeds.

Front or RWD

If it is FWD I bet its a CV joint which will do that grind all the time, grind worse when turning one direction and not at all or nor worse in the other. If it is the CV joint replace it NOW, if it is making that much sound its about to snap, if it is RWD I would have to say its a caliper or bearing hanging up but you already checked those out.

How do you check your CV joint? Mine has gone to hell since I got my lowering springs and I'm trying to determine if it's bad or if it can just be tightened.

As I stated in my original post, I've replaced BOTH half shafts, meaning, I replaced both front axles, cv joints and all.

It's not the CV joints.....
I told you this will stump ya.

Just because you replaced them doesn't mean squat, brand new ones will do it if they don't have enough grease in the CV boot, check to see the boots are intact and that they are PACKED with grease.

Could you have been given the wrong axle for your application? Did you check to see if it is packed with grease? j/k I know, I know, it's not the cv joint. Have someone else drive it slowly while you try to hone in on the source. Maybe your axle is rubbing on something. good luck!

Sorry, if that seemed a bit agressive, not everybody in here has a lot of common sence so I usually try to mention basic stuff to consider because a lot of ppl overlook the common stuff and get paranoid.

Brett since you didn't respond to my suggestions I must have been on the mark. You seem to enjoy telling us what it isn't. What is making the noise and causing the pull to the right?
