I have read all kinds of reason why its overheating but none were right.
on the open road the gague reads about 1/2 or 50%
on hills it starts climbing, in traffic it climbes to 95% or higher.
I have replaced the fan clutch, radiator cap & thermostate, pulled the water pump it looks like new,
the radiator is clean it 1 1/2 years old.
I have 159,000 miles on it, no smoke, very good power,
no water loss. Any & all ideas are welcome.
Also anyone know where I can get an after market Fan that dosent use a clutch ???

Your best bet on the fan would be to put an electric one in with a temperature switch, it would automatically turn on at whatever temperature you specify and you'll gain a little power because the crank won't be turning that big clunky fanblade. As for the overheating from what I've found all Mazda trucks run hot, mine used to run 50-75% up the gauge. If yours is running that hot than something is wrong but its not going to start getting cool with modifying some stuff or getting an oil cooler. If you've already checked all the simple stuff, and rechecked it, it has to be something mechanicle. Chances are its somewhere in the cylinder head, valve train, timing, or exhaust system, a clogged cat will cause one to run hot. If its something in one of those catagories you can't just look at it and say yep thats whats wrong, you have to know what your looking at, and it may take some time even for an experienced mechanic.
