Bass makes the front doors rattle

I have recently bought myself a complete Pioneer car audio system for my 95 Mazda 626 DX. Meaning a deck and all 4 6"x8" speakers. These speakers are really powerfull and give a LOT of bass, so much that I don't need subwoofers. The only problem is they make my front doors rattle, especially the drivers door.

Now I have done the installation of the deck and speakers myself so I have some thoughts. Ok first of all when I took off the door panels when installing the speakers, I noticed there was this clear plastic material convering the inside of the door. It was glued to the door with somekind of black, messy substance, kind of like silicone but much messier . Now I would think this would be partly responcible for the rattling noise. Could someone tell me why this clear plastic material is inside the door and if I could take it off? Is it to prevent moisture from entering the car? If yes, I'll leave it then considering my car has a problems with keeping out moisture hehe.

The biggest cause of the rattling noise is the actual metal part of the inside of the door, at least I think. It vibrates and I'm guessing it's vibrating against something. I'm not sure quite what, and it's not the window because my windows are up. The metal panel is secure though, so why would there be a rattling noise. Any suggestions?

My audio system is pretty high quality and rich with bass, but this rattling makes it sound like I have cheap speakers, so can anyone help?

Thanks a bunch,
Dan

Yeah!

The clear plastic film is as you suspected there to stop moisture from entering the car. And I don't think this is the problem in your case. And the "messy stuff" is a glue to keep the plastic there. The plastic can be removed and put back using the old "messy stuff" if this still is sticky enough. Otherwise go to a local autoparts shop and ask the clerk what to use there.

The problem is either with the internal parts of the door or your installation. You have installed the speakers securely and made some baffles, right? The place where the speaker mounts arent usually good enough for aftermarket speakers. If you don't have a clue about what I'm talking about please use some searchengine and find some car audio source that tells you the basics.

On the other hand if the installation is as it should be start checking the door internals. Remove the plastic film and have a look feel for something that "feels" like it could vibrate. Might be some part that starts vibrating. Try to locate this part and try to get it not to start vibrating. Might also be that the metal in the door starts vibrating, dampening material helps, but I dont think this is the problem with a basic system like you described.
