I have a 87' Mazda 626. It has been sit(not driving)there for 1.5 years. Now I replaced all 4 spark plugs, changed oil and oil filter etc.
When I start the engine, it cranks and running only for 3 to 4 seconds then dead, I repeated many times(50 times) it still does the same thing.
A friend of mine recommand me to test the fuel pump. I turn the key on, ignition lights are on, but not start the engine, I unplug the pipe line from the fuel filter, there is no fuel come out from the fuel pipe, my friends said the fuel pump is not working. He said the fuel pump is located inside the fuel tank, it that true?? and how to replace it, please help, Thank you so much.

man if you look under the back seat you will find the fuel pump but if it was the fuel pump it would not continue to crank and shut off. before you do that check your airmass flow meter. if it is catching air or is no good it will do exactly that.
