no head high beam lights, no parking lights and dash board lights - What can I do?

I had my 626 mazada transmission rebuilt. The transmission guy informed me that the lights want work. Placed a new dimmer swith and now the dash board lights and parking lights will not come on. Oh by the way the engine light came on and refuse to go away. HELP
