My 1999 Millinia is making a clunking/knocking sound that sounds like it's coming from the driver's side supension area.
The sound usually happens when the temperature is cold
outside and when I brake or accelerate. when it's warm, or hot, no problems.lets say the car is moving along in drive with no acceleration if I hit the brake, I hear a clunk/knock sound. If I decide to accelerate sudenly, I hear the same clunk/knock sound.
I have tried to locate the problem, by stoping and going.( kind of like jerking the car by applying and releasing the brakes).I have jacked the car up and used a pry bar to move the tire up and down, when I did these two things I heard the knock, but still no clue as to where it can be
I've had different answers and prices from different mechanics. But i'm just not in the mood to get robbed
Any help ( suggestion) would be useful at this point.

If you can make it make the noise you can find it. have someone else push the wheel up while you look and put your hand on different parts to find the pop.

Ask the mechanic to check the 4 engine-legs, my friend had the same problem, and the mechanic find there is some crack on it, it cost 800 USD for 4 engine legs.
