Since the beginning of this summer, after turning off the engine and leaving it for more than 30min, the engine will not start. The starter turns all right, battery is ok. I have changed the distributor (it wasn't it) and I have just changed the fuel pump (at the top of the motor block) since they told me that the problem could be fuel "boiling" inside when hot(this from Mazda). When the motor cools down, it starts perfectly. I really love the car, and I really do not have a clue what is going on (the Mazda guys neither). Does anybody experienced something similar?

I would suspect the ignition coil first. Have you determined if it gets spark when it does'nt start?
A partially clogged converter can cause heatsoak and boil away fuel and cause vaporlock.
Sounds like you replace the fuel pressure regulator and not the fuel pump. The pump is inside the gas tank.

Thank you very much for your answer. You are right, we changed the fuel pressure regulator.
As you said, it may be the ingnition coil (I can not believe the Mazda experts did not check that). I am pretty unexperienced with cars, but if that is the case, just a question: in order to see if the spark reaches the distributor: should I just take the plug coming to it and point it out to somewhere in the chassis? I had a VW a gazzilion years ago and that was the way I tried it.
Thanks again

That or get a sparkplug and connect it to the wire then ground the plug.

Ahhhh... I have tried changing the distributor, the fuel pressure regulator, and now the ignition block, without any luck. When hot, the car will not restart. I guess, if fuel and sparks are all right, the only thing missing could be air. A friend told me that it could be the "choke" (I do not know what that may be) or that I may be getting vaporlock at the conduit bringing the fuel from the tank (instead of having this problem at the fuel regulator).
Are the fuel conduits close enough to the engine so vaporlock is a possibility?
Does anybody else have a clue? I have received a lot of answers "sell the car"...
