help! my window is stuck down!!

my window is stuck down? the actual button that controls the window has alot of play in it like a spring has come aloose. It is the drivers side window so i'm sure it gets used alot more than the rest of the windows. any suggestion as to what i can check so i can get it back up .

Most likely needs a switch. Turn the ignition switch to on but don't start the car. Hit the window switch and watch the idiot lights on the dash. If the lights dim the motor is getting power. If they don't dim the motor is not getting power and you have a bad switch.

the window could be off track and so it cant go up.
take the cover of your door off and see.
I had a similar problem.
It should cost little to nothing, unless the motor is dead, then you will have to pay a little more.

OKAY so i found out that it was my window switch and i need a new one anybody have a walk through on installing a new one

What vehicle is this one? Which switch (front/rear). Where is the switch located?

Usually the switches can be gently pried out and a harness connector plugs right it.
