My 323f 1.6i has over the past few weeks been lacking power. The revs start to climb, and then it eventually "catches" and I get more power. Or, if i ease off on the accelerator, the revs will drop and I will half get a bit more power.
When it does "catch" the best way I can describe it is like an automatic when it changes gears, and it gives a little kick.
I have only had the car a few months, and eventually the guy I bought it from was able to say the for the 45k miles he had it for, the air filter, fuel filter and spark plugs had never been changed. So i have just done the air and spark plugs. Waiting on a fuel filter. I am also waiting on a distributor cap and rotor arm, as when I took a look at them, they were heavily encrusted in crap.
I have also had the exhast changed, from the cat backwards, and they damaged the section between the downpipe and the CAT so that has been changed. The car was taken back twice to them, because there were larges gaps between each section, so it was not gas tight (and more to the point, bloody noisey!!!). It may just be coincidence, but it was shortly after the exhaust was changed that this started to all happen.
So anyone help? Many thanks

Hi Gertrude,
It's been a looong time since you posted your problem, and I see that you did not receive any response. I have the exact same problem with my 323F and I'm curiuous how you solved it.
If you get this message it would be great if you can email or post a note on what the problem was and how to solve it.
Thanks!
- Terje
