being in the south, A/C is very important. last night my battery light came on. i recall hearing a strange noise. today A/C is only blowing hot air. any suggestions on cause?

The battery light usually comes on because of altenator failure. check and clean the battery post clamps and alt first.

Looking at it won't help you any. You need to check the charging system. Most Autozones etc will check it free.

i was able to drive it to a service station nearby. i pointed out the belts,he said he could fix it for $75 or $100. thanks so much for all the advice. now i can quit worrying about it and enjoy the dixie chicks show tonight. which i can walk to.

You inadvertently said $75 OR a $100, indicating to me you may have had a choice which amount you wanted to pay, and of course in that situation most people would choose $75! Of course you meant to say $75 TO a $100 ! My silly sense of humour saw the opportunity for a bit of fun. IT WAS A JOKE!!!
