| Is there such a thing as a 95 626 SE (not ES)???August 13 2003 at 3:44 AM No score for this post | Mike |
| Back in 98 I bought my 4 cyl 95 Mazda 626. I didn't know much about cars back then, I was just happy to get my first car. On the side it said SPECIAL EDITION in writing and SE aswell. Even to this day I didn't know what was so special about it, but it did have A/C and that was good enough for me back then hehe. On my insurance it said ES, but not knowing that there was actually an ES model which was high end I didn't think much of it.
Today I realize my car is more like a DX. A neighbor bought a 95 626 ES and it's fully loaded. 6 cyl, power everything, moon roof, fog lights, bigger tires and I think even aluminum wheels. If this is what the ES is, WHAT THE HELL IS THE SE? Is there even such a thing??????????? After doing some research my car seems more like a DX, and I've been paying insurance for 5 years for an ES!!!
I'm of course going to straighten this out, I'm paying more for the insurance than I should. Also I'll yell at them for making such a stupid mistake, too bad I didn't notice this before. Before I do anything can anyone tell me if there even is such a thing as a 95 626 SE? Since I couldn't find any info online, I'm thinking someone just stuck these Special Edition stickers on my car which infact is a DX.

Don't know either, sorry, but maybe you've answered your own question! Good luck with your insurance refund??
Along a similar line, in OZ, SS vehicles are popular. Don't know what it stands for, probably just looks good! My 11y/o son loves to point them out, but one or both of us got caught out the other day when he pointed one out in a carpark,I said I didn't think so, and he pointed out the badge on the back which, to my embarrassment, clearly showed two big S's! But as we got closer I saw smaller letters after each S and it actually said Stock Standard!! |

I checked kbb.com, which is the Kelly Blue Book web site for appraising used cars. I looked up what models of 626 were available in 1995. According to kbb.com, there was no such thing as 626 SE. The only models listed were DX,LX, and ES. |

I also chackedkbb.com all the way back to 1984. No such thing as 626 SE. However, up to 93, there is a 323 model called SE. |
