HELP! Check Engine light has been and continues to be on for about a month or so. Three (3) codes are as follows: (1) PO300 - Random Multiple Cylinder Misfire; (2) PO303 - Cylinder 3 Misfire Detected; and (3) PO325 - Knock Sensor 1 Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 or single sensor). How do we make check engine light go out permanently? Also -- EGR solenoid valve has vacuum hose with red dot which runs down above idle speed solenoid is disconnted and hanging. Supposed to go to charcoal canister. Where is charcoal canister located? How many ohms should spark plug wires read out at? PLEASE HELP ASAP. Thanks.

A good rule of thumb for spark plug wire resistance is 1000 ohms (1Kohm) per inch of length. The total resistance will vary with the individual wire length. You can simplify the test by inserting a Phillips scredriwer into the plug wire boot ond touching one of the ohmmeter's leads to it. The other side of the wire is easier to access with the other ohmmeter lead.
Do not know about this particular model, but charcola canisters are usually located in the engine compartment on the inner fender wall. They are fairly large and cylindrical in shape - about the size of a half gallon can so you should be able to find it easily.

In regards to the check engine light. First start by disconnecting the battery to erase the codes. If the check engine light comes back on after reconnecting the battery then there is definatly a solid problem......

Bobby: Thanks for your response. Already tried disconnecting the battery. Codes clear temporarily -- for about 2 miles of travel or so and then back on! When I had the car inspected this month, they ran it on the scanner and came up with the three codes I mentioned. If you find out anything ... let me know. Thank you for responding though. Michele
