This is probably right up there with "Why can't we have Peace on Earth" or "why doesn't USA go metric" but why is some vehicle problem diagnosis like rocket science! Maybe that's what it needs, maybe each dealership should have a factory trained rocket scientist!Someone who could correctly diagnose the problem and then fix it FIRST time! I think most of us could accept paying for a repair if it actually fixed it!It should be like the Legal system "no win, no pay", "no fix, no pay", and manufacturers should be responsible for "design flaws" for the "life" of the vehicle, because some of these problems show up well after the warranty period. The manufacturers should also give more thought to what happens when something goes wrong in a system so that it doesn't end up in a dangerous situation, like in some of the posts! I would call these, design flaws! They don't happen in every vehicle, so in that particular model it's a "design flaw"!!I could go on.......

By the way, this is not directed at anyone who contributes positvely to this forum, but at the system in general that sometimes relies on "consumer testing" to sort out their problems!!

I agree, things like warranties are worthless because they will never fix the problem to start out with, or fix half of it and tell you "you car sounds great" even though it's got an annoying knock in the engine that you just know is something like a push rod gettin ready to snap!!!
