| Are there any cheap ways of strengthening the rear springs on my truck, a b2200 1990 mazda.

remove the leaf springs. Take them to a spring shop and have them add a leaf. You could probably do it yourself?? I've never tried, but you'd have to match the arc and width. Then you'd have to wrap the leaf springs with those metal straps. Maybe the "U" bolts over the axle too if they broke or are too short with the thicker springs. The little truck will ride pretty harsh with an extra leaf. A bit too trucky for me. |

You can't do it yourself! It is a specialist job!They might put a shorter one in near the bottom of the stack, this will still give you a reasonable ride when empty, but talk to a spring person because how you go about it depends on your load configurations ie. loaded, empty, loaded, empty, or a 1/2 ton of tools all the time and occasional 1/2 ton load etc! | |
