I have a 2000 Mazda Sentia Exclusive (HEEA) with factory satellite navigation, television and all that. Can someone tell me if the Sat Nav System works elsewhere (other than Japan) and what is needed to get it up and running? There is a CD-ROM in the trunk that is associated with the Sat Nav and I assume it is for the digital maps and necessary software?
I've got the factory owners manual, but it is all in Japanese and meaningless to me. There is not enough English or illustrations, to even glean the gist of what they are on about....

I agree that language is very hard to understand, but if you substitute R for L and L for R then you are on your way, but not very far!!

Sorry, didn't mean to be flippant, but couldn't resist, it sounds like you've got a second hand Japanese import, so you have to go through what the rest of us go through, no help from dealers or anyone else, but be assured if I could help you I would, but I'm sorry!!

Thanks for the 'encouraging' words.... since posting my plea, I've had a call from my local Mazda dealer who has been able to source a translation of the owners handbook from Mazda New Zealand.
You are right, however... it is a recent Asian Immigrant (but a very nice one, with all the goodies...) It is VERY complicated mechanically and I'm not at all sure that I like the notion of being left to my own devices. The rattle evident, is not the HLA's... it's the worry beads...!
