Is there anyone here using ractive racing seats in their car? What's your opinion on them? I saw a great deal on streetvogue.com for some and I'm contemplating on getting a set. They seem to have the lowest price on them so far. I'd also like to buy a kit for my 03 mazda protege5 if anyone knows of any out there. Is it hard to remove stock seats and replace them with aftermarket ones?

You need to retain the seat runners to maintain the vehicle crash wothiness... should the unthinkable happen, the last thing you need is to be fired through the back window along with the seat.

Remove the seats by un-bolting them from the floor-pan. Un-bolt the seat runners from the seat frame. Attach the new seat to the seat runners-and try to use the original bolts because they will be the correct tensile strength (for crash worthiness) and then mount the new seat and runners onto the floor-pan-using the original bolts.

After market seats are usually designed to fit a wide range of seat runners, so check with the manufacturer to see if the seats you intend to purchase can be fitted up to the Mazda seat runner.

I know Recaro seats will fit Mazda runners.
