| Hello!
All of my back seat belts are locked up. How can I get them unlocked? I'm going to go out there right now and try to play with them, but it's driving me crazy. Is there something I can take apart that's easy enough for a girl to do? lol
Any help you could give would be great! |

Madaz Mike, while your input is appreciated and your assumptions maybe spot on,WE as transient individuals in a help group, should first assume the problem IS genuine and, if this is an area where you have expertise, you should then respond accordingly! To do any different would undermine the reputation of this forum!!Sorry, I didn't mean it to sound like a lecture, and as I said, we welcome your input ! |

I think you mean that the strap won't come out of the carrier, or is it that the belts are inserted in the sockets and won't come out when the release is pushed?
If the former, and I don't know what you are driving so I'll just go with the generic explanation, there is usually a rachet type mechanism that can be 'unlocked' by inserting a screwdriver in the end and lifting the lock bar out of the gear tooth. You should be able to pull them out with slow, steady pressure, as any sudden jerking pull will simulate an inertial force such as a body being thrown forward in a sudden stop and lock them up. If the latter, you'll probably need to slip a thin metal object (like a steel ruler) into the socket to release the pin. | |
