this is a doable project .. a few things to be aware of ... the shifter is located futher back ... necessitating relocating the hole in the hump ... and there is a couple of knots on the tail shaft that are not on the 4sp that room has to be made for .. the front shaft on the speed i acquired was somewhat longer than my original 4spd (i found this out by trying to get it to bolt up would be better to measure to start with .. hehehehe) so out it came .. and i cut off about 200 thousandths .. i used a dremel type tool with the cut off disks ... you will have to use the 4spd bellhousing .. and you will have to have the 5spd shifter and you may need to put a bit of backwards kink in it to get seat clearance. one other minor thing i would suggest based on my installation .. stick the shifter in while it is out on the ground and make sure it will go through all five gears and reverse .. after you do that .. take the shifter back out and wedge a rag around the shift rod knuckle to keep it in position (another thing i found out the hard way) .. if you have questions other than that i would try to help write me at the addy i gave
