Anyone know how to disable the security system on a 95 Millenia? My car has had a stalling problem. It stops running at any time and one never knows when it will happen. Starts up again after a minute or two. Checked everything we can think of including: replacing the distributor assembly three times (the most recent one is a new unit from the dealer because re-built units are usually no good)., vacuum lines, disabled traction control. These apparently are the most common problems with a 2.5 V6. I have had the car to four different shops including the dealer. Everyone is stumped and I am now advised the problem could be in the security system. Can it be disabled? Anyone got any ideas? If not I will be scrapping the car. Can't depend on it and am losing my patience with it.

Same problem here -- 95 Millenia stalls randomly. Sometimes going down the highway, sometimes at stop lights, anywhere.
Replaced the distributor based on dealer suggestion (although I had a good idea this was probably not the problem), but still no luck.

I also have a 95 millenia that had the same problem. I replaced the EGR boost sensor and the problem ceased. I
ordered the sensor from AA foreign Auto Parts(salvage)in Little Rock, Ark.($45.00 delivered) The sensor is located on the fire wall(top/center) and has a couple vacuum hoses and an electrical plug-in. Very easy to install.(10min)

Will the engine run if the boost sensor is disconnected?

Guys, I was wondering if your check engine lights were blinking before the stalliung ever started. If anyone can shed light on this I'll be grateful. Thanks.

the security system will not cause the car not to run, it just interupts the starter circuit. Yes the egr boost sensor normally starts off as a flashing ccccheck engine light. The sensor is a big problem on 1995's , it was changed to a different style in 1996.

Check your keys! Maybe they are out of tolerance. Your keys should have a built in ic chip. Anytime the keys go out of range, they will create the problem which you are experiencing. Good LUck! I hope this will help you.

It was most likely the troublesome EGR system, not the keys. To the best of my knowledge, the '95 Millenia did not have keys with built in chips. The only thing special I see about my set of keys ('95-L), is that they are of that impossible-to-copy-at-a-hardware-store inverted design.

I would have to agree with most of y'all here. It is the EGR. I had to replace mine, and now it runs good. But if you are going to scrap the car let me know. I could use some parts.

I have a similar problem with my 98 Mill...where exactly is the EGR?..Can someone send me a link or a pic?

When you open the hood of the car. There should be a sticker up underneath the hood. It is about a 4 inch by 4 inch sticker.
