Just bought a 92 929 at auction but it needs transmission work ($1800-2200). It's loaded, great body and 181K miles. The Amoco man tells me that it could last 2-3 years with the trans fixed.

Since I know nothing about the 929, can you tell me if the car is worth getting the trans fixed?

I just got a 92' 929 from auction. The parts for this car are through the roof! 90% of the parts you can only get through Mazda. My advice would be to check EBAY. There is a transmission on there right now for a 929. If it is only going to last "a few more years" I sure wouldn't spend two grand or so on a transmission when you could spend 6-800 and it would last you just as long. I hope this helps.

I HAD TRANNY PROBLEMS IT WOULD NOT GO IN GEAR RIGHT AWAY AND IT SHUTERRED WHEN DRIVING IT COAST ME 18$ TO CHANGE THE FILTER BUT IF IS PAST THAT POINT I WOULD NOT FIX IT FOR EVERY THING ON THE CAR IS VERY EXPENSIVE FOR EXAMPLE THE SPARK PLUG WIRES COST 110$ SO NOTHING IS CHEAP ABOUT THE CAR BUT I DO LIKE MINE AND WOULD NOT GET RID OF MINE
