I have a 1996 mazda protege that i took the battery out of and the keyless entry stopped working. Does any know how to reprogram the keyless entryies?

Try this: Leave the driver's door open. Cycle the ignition switch on and off three times (don't turn it far enough to start the engine!) Then press and release the driver's door interior light switch three times (the switch is on the driver's door jamb toward the back of the opening low near the sill plate. Then press a button on the remote fob. The locks should respond by going down and up. Do the same with any other fobs you have (if you don't you may loose the programming.) When done, close the driver's door. The locks should respond by going down and up three times. You're done! Hope this helps!
