85 RX7 SE, sometimes it starts consistently sometimes not.
May go for months with no problems or may not start on & off day after day!
Had it to local Mazda "guru" and dealership, no lasting fix.
Anyone got input?
Thanks

Just kidding...had at least 4 of 'em and wish I still had one. It's gonna be your electrical fuel pump...then finally one day it won't start at all. But be sure to check that you're not flooding the engine...actually check that first. Pull the fuel line that feeds the engine and poke it in a 20 liter soda bottle to catch the gas..start the engine. If it starts or at least turns over like it's gonna start...stop. Put the fuel line back on and it should startup ok. For some reason the RX-7 has a problem starting again after sitting for a while.

good luck

The Most simple common problem with that is the damn split factory B+ Batery cable. I had the same thing happened t me on my 85 and after a few months it started being more common not to start. took it in and viola, the cable is a split cable as it goes through the botom of the engine to the alternator via a cable runner due to heat, it had been replaced a few times before I bought the car so I just got it replace and never had the problem again.
