is there any way i can cut these off and the mechanic who is looking at my truck said there is 2 cats i only say one under the truck and it was about 1 foot before the muffler can i ditch the cats and just run straight pipe i dont have emmission laws to deal with

I could be mistaken, but I believe the one you see before the muffler may only be a resonator. Check just below the exhaust manifold. Buy yourself the upper and lower gaskets for the catalytic convertor, remove it, clean the insides of it out with a hammer and bar of some sort. Reinstall and you're done.

I believe that there is 3 cats on your truck, one right at the ex. manifold, one right under the manifold, and one before the muffler
