| hey guys well my car has a problem and i really dont know what it is. I was driving down the road and came to a stop light and all of a sudden my car shut off and i couldnt get it started after a few minutes of trying, it started again just with enough time to make it back home and then it died again. what do you guys thing it is because i've checked the battery and thats not it so I dont know what else it could be. |

Well it only takes spark and fuel to go. You are missing one of the two. The pump (easy to get to under the back seat), the fuel filter (or less likely the injectors). I have heard that the distributors are notorious for failures. I carried a spare in the trunk of my 1988 for the whole time I owned it. I never used it, BUT I did NOT let it go when I sold the car. That means I have one out in my garage somewhere. You almost need a map and a guide to get around the garage these days. I have been putting off cleaning it up for a while. I paid $100.00, but would sell it for $25 if you want it. It came from a wrecking yard off a running car, but I never actually used it.
