1991 Mazda 626 - the airconditioner sounds as if the bearings are going bad. How do i bypass the airconditioner (which doesn't work) belt. it is on the same belt as the power steering. can i just unplug the airconditioner some how? any suggestions would help. thanks

Unplugging the wire to the AC compressor won't help you in this case. You'll need to remove the compressor and replace with a new one (the compressor must come out for bearing replacement because of space, and redoing that is usually not cost-effective). I'd get a replacement belt at the auto parts store that is designated for same vehicle but without AC, and use that to drive the power steering.
